As a packed 747-400 takes off into the Hong Kong sunset, one pilot is killed, the other totally blinded. While an amateur onboard team desperately struggles to manoeuvre the giant machine to safety, they become aware they are still being targeted - with disastrous results. FBI agent and terrorism specialist Kat Bronsky is assigned to hunt for a mysterious business jet previously observed nearby and, in a spine-chilling cat-and-mouse pursuit, she begins to unravel a top-level conspiracy that will kill hundreds of innocent people rather than have its secrets uncovered.
