This is a collection of 400 photographs of the common or classical signs in clinical medicine which every student is expected to recognize. The signs are clearly illustrated and accompanied by extended explanatory captions giving a full background to what shown and how each sign may be elicited. The format is based on a survey which showed that students want a reference which combines photographs of essential clinical signs with long captions to enhance the value of the photographs. It should help the reader to revise for exams, memorize details of unfamiliar conditions and gain background details on conditions seen after a ward round.
