Praying to the moon is a symbol of consciously directing attention to a personal source of wisdom. The moon is not only a reflection of the sun, but it exerts its own energy and power through its gravitational pull, and by its cyclical nature helps us to comprehend the passage of time. "Prayers to the Moon" guides the reader on a journey of self-discovery, the map of which is determined by the reader's responses to a collection of 52 sequenced writing exercises. The exercises are designed to encourage self-observation and mindfulness and to provide practise in discerning the difference between the imposed, conditioned, robotic self and the essential self, responsive to the cycles of nature, immediate circumstances and personal vision.
