About Malachy Doyle

Malachy Doyle began his career as a children's writer in 1996 and met with immediate success, having 13 books accepted for publication within the year. Much of Malachy's inspiration comes from tales told to him as a child by his mother. He passionately believes that you are never too young, too old or too wise to enjoy and to learn from these stories. Niamh Sharkey, an award-winning Irish illustrator. She was the Laureate na nOg or Irish Laureate for Children's Literature from 2012 to 2014, and is currently the creator and executive producer of Disney Junior's television series Henry Hugglemonster, which is based on her book I'm a Happy Hugglewug. She has also illustrated Jack and the Beanstalk, The Gigantic Turnip and Tales of Wisdom and Wonder for Barefoot Books.
