This work offers a guided tour of our solar system and beyond, to the farthest reaches of the universe, illustrated with images from Hubble Space Telescope as well as large ground-based telescopes. The authors explain the broad concepts of astronomy before describing what may be seen with the naked eye and through a pair of binoculars or small telescope, suc h as planets, comets, galaxies and nebulae. They go on to explain cosmological theories such as the Big Bang, the expanding universe, and the possibility of life elsewhere.
