About Robert Menschel

ROBERT MENSCHEL is Senior Director of the Goldman Sachs Group and founder of its institutional investment department. He is on the Boards of Trustees of The New York Public Library, The Museum of Modern Art, and the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton University, and was a member of President Clinton's Committee on the Arts and Humanities. WILLIAM SAFIRE writes about language, politics, and society for the New York Times. His column appears twice weekly and on Sunday.
