This study argues that community care cannot simply be regarded as the natural corollary of hospital closure, but as a programme requiring careful planning and implementation. In addition to examining contemporary concerns such as teamwork and quality assurance, the author provides a practical guide to current treatment practice. Each chapter contains checklists and performance guides designed to provide material for both the student and the health and social service professional.
