He has written or contributed to books and CD-ROMS on subjects as diverse as popular psychology, business and management, history, the Internet, computer software and music. He is the author of Play Rock Guitar, Play Country Guitar, The Complete Book of the Guitar, Play Rock Guitar, Guitar, The Guitar: The Definitive Reference, Total Piano Tutor and The Beatles: The Complete Illustrated Story, and a contributor to books The Guitar Handbook, The Complete Guitarist and magazines Underground and The Band. He lives in Scotland.
