Laura Ritchie's husband is killed crossing a busy road. Mike Mackman, though exonerated of blame, is desperate to put things right. It's not long before Laura is trapped in a spiral of unease and fear as the insistent Mike passes the point where desire to protect becomes obsessive need to control.
