Addressing issues that are relevant to the reception teacher, this yearbook contains a chapter for each of the curriculum subject areas - English, maths, science, history, geography, D&T, music, art, RE, PE, and IT. Each subject chapter provides: guidelines on what teachers can expect from the majority of their pupils in each subject in the way of skills and knowledge; definition of key areas for the majority of reception children giving a sound basis for progression; practical teaching ideas to cover the key areas and to help achieve expectations; and guidance onm assessment. The book also provides chapters that highlight planning and organizational issues as well as PSE.
