Introduction by Richard Garnett. Pages have slight foxing, tanning and minor thumbing. Foxing more noticeable towards the start and end of the book and on text block edges. Previous owner's inscription to front endpaper. Smudging to front endpaper and pastedown. A few dog-eared corners. Slight gutter cracking. Boards have some edge wear, with slight bumping and fraying to corners, while spine ends are very crushed and frayed. Slightly scratched, rubbed and marked overall. Some water staining to front and rear. Spine is slightly sunned. Book has a moderate forward lean. Gilt is bright.
