Summary
When war breaks out in 1939, Maggie Evans is quickly seduced by Steve Rossi, who turns out to be an unsavoury character. Maggie then becomes lovers with a black GI named Joshua. Joshua leaves for France unaware that she's pregnant and he dies never knowing that he's going to be a father.
