About Justine Barksby

Justine has been a qualified learning disability nurse since 1995. Since then she has worked as a staff nurse in a learning disability service, she has been a manager of an NHS learning disability day service and also worked as a clinical nurse specialist in challenging behaviour. She is now a lecturer for the University of Nottingham, teaching student nurses. She has a qualification in higher education and is a practice teacher. Justine feels very passionate about the quality of service provision for people with learning disabilities. Lucy Harper has worked as a lecturer for the University of Nottingham for five years and is based at the Mansfield site in Nottinghamshire. Before this she spent ten years as a general nurse caring for surgical patients. Lucy is a qualified practice teacher and regularly teaches students from all fields of nursing including learning disabilities. She has always been active in promoting high quality health care services which are safe and effective for service users, carers, relatives and staff.
