Octoberland is dedicated to weaving ancient black magic and preserving the life of its centuries-old leader. A. A. Attanasio was born in Newark, New Jersey. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and received an MFA in Creative Writing from Columbia University, and an MA in Linguistics from New York University. His first novel, RADIX, was shortlisted for the prestigious Nebula Award.
