White Notes, Black Notes, Key Notes: Easier Piano Pieces 80 by Alan Ridout
These elementary pieces are based on an unusual idea: all the white-note modes are used, interspersed with pieces in modes derived for the black notes; and the final piece introduces an element of bitonality, with the left hand on the white notes and right hand on the black. The composer has also incorporated a number of different forms in order to further their instructional value.
