About Andrew W. Phillips, MD, MEd

Dr. Phillips is a clinician researcher, practicing in the fields of emergency medicine and critical care while also leading a wide array of medical education research. He is an adjunct assistant professor at Uniformed Services University, an associate editor of the Western Journal of Emergency Medicine, and the founder and editor-in-chief of the first medical education platform to leverage artificial intelligence, EM Coach. He has advanced the bar of expectation for survey research methods with several seminal studies and articles in the field, leading to the creation of Survey Methods for Medical and Health Professionals Education. A Professor of Medicine and Pathology; Director, Graduate Programs in Health Professions Education (HPE); Director, Introduction to Clinical Reasoning Course at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, and Deputy Editor for Research for Academic Medicine, Dr. Durning is devoted to improving medical and health professions education and is considered a global leader in clinical reasoning.
