Love by Anne De Marnhac
The excitement of a first date, the wonder of birth, the sweetness of a smile, the exchange of looks: behind all of these moments and at the heart of all these actions, lies one single word - love. Love is the most profound, powerful and encompassing force in life and in this collection of 170 black-and-white photographs an international selection of image-makers, including Bruce Davidson, Elliot Erwitt, Leonard Freed and Mary Ellen Mark, portray people expressing love in a variety of ways. Accompanying the images are quotations from modern writers, from D.H. Lawrence and Ezra Pound to Raymond Carver and Jane Smiley, who capture and convey the universality of love.
