Teaching Physical Education: A Guide for Mentors and Students by Anne Williams
This work offers subject-specific guidance to those involved in the support and training of student teachers, and in the introduction of newly qualified teachers. It also offers a resource for student teachers and NQTs themselves. The book aims to increase understanding of what constitutes good practice in relation to different aspects of physical education training, and to provide practical strategies and activities to help the student, newly qualified or more experienced teacher to gain insights into the issues raised. Focus is upon specific issues or competences which physical education teachers and students need to address: for example, equal opportunities, special education needs and teaching styles. The book provides specific strategies for collaborative teaching, working with student teachers and observation, and feedback on lessons.
