About Anton Pavlovich Chekhov

Anton Chekhov (1860-1904) combined a career as a doctor with a prolific output as a writer. He produced hundreds of short stories and was one of the most innovative and successul playwrights for the Russian stage with works including The Cherry Orchard and The Three Sisters.
