Russel H. S. Stolfi, holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering (1954), and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Modern European History (1964, 1966) from Stanford University. After graduating in 1966, he taught modern history for twenty-seven years as a professor at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. Over the same period, Stolfi served as a regular, then reserve, officer in the U.S. Marine Corps (1954-85). He has written three books centred on the Second World War, four major articles, and several U.S. Department of Defense technical studies. Stolfi's works include German Panzers on the Offensive: Russia-North Africa, 1941-1942; Hitler's Panzers East: World War II Reinterpreted; and NATO under Attack.
