Ian Rankin's first Rebus novel was published in 1987; the books are now in translation, as well as being increasingly popular in the USA. Ian Rankin has been a Hawthornden Fellow and is winner of the Chandler-Fulbright Award as well as two Crime Writers' Association "Daggers" for short stories; his novel Black & Blue won the 1997 Gold Dagger. He lives in Edinburgh and is married with two sons. Nicola Walker was a member of the Cambridge Footlights and was in their 1990 National Tour. She has performed widely on stage. On film she has appeared in Four Weddings And A Funeral. Television work includes Dalziel & Pascoe, Jonathan Creek, A Dance To The Music Of Time and Moll Flanders. She has also done a variety of radio recordings for BBC Radio 4.
