Stephen Wade is a professional writer specializing in the history of crime and the law in Britain and Ireland, family heritage and nineteenth-century history. A former teacher, university lecturer and writer in residence in prisons, he has written more than twenty books for Pen and Sword, including Notorious Prisons of the World, Air Raid Shelters of the Second World War, and Tracing Your Legal Ancestors, as well as seven titles in the Foul Deeds series.
