Tess Lawrence's family moves from Chicago to a tiny southern town. Tess is initially upset and homesick, but soon finds the kids at her new high school warm and welcoming. One person isn't so welcoming to Tess and that is Luke Stoddard. The problem is that Tess feels strongly attracted to Luke.
