Rock Climbing in Northern England by Bill Birkett
The authors have selected some 1200 climbs on approximately 60 crags. It is their belief also that a single picture is worth many words, and so the guidebook is illustrated with well over 200 photographs which give a higly visual representation of the climbs to complement the descriptions in the text. There are also maps to each area, and to some of the more complex collections of crags. A great deal of helpful information has been included about access to the crags, most of which are within easy reach of cities and towns, and which provide good year round climbing. The usual system of British grading has been used, and includes both the overall grade and the technical grade.
