Grass is Always Greener: Rural Life and Christian Faith by Board Of Mission
All of us has a connection with rurality, whether it's because we live or work there, because we take holidays or make visits to the countryside, or because we purchase and consume products that come from rural food producers. However, there are many differing perceptions of what rural life is like. This book of short stories aims to provide a way to look at these perceptions and attitudes, so that they can then be used to look more closely and thoughtfully at what help and support the local church can provide. The issues considered in this book are particularly relevant in the light of recent events including the BSE crisis and Foot-and-mouth disease, which has changed the countryside forever. Each story is accompanied by suggested topics for discussion and reflection. Suggestions for readings, role plays and hymns and prayers are also included.
