The New Engineering Contract by Brian Eggleston
The new engineering contract has been promoted widely following the Latham Report, as the ideal form of contract for building, civil engineering and plant projects, both in the UK and overseas. The contract has a novel style of drafting which deliberately avoids the legalistic wording of conventional contracts, and seeks, as a matter of policy, to reduce adversarial attitudes. However, this has resulted in a contract whose wording and structure is largely unfamiliar to those in the industry. This book examines the contract in detail so that users can understand its operation and the potential pitfalls and difficulties.
