Shelter from the Storm: Caring for the Victims of Kosovo by Bruce D. Thompson
Shelter from the Storm tells the story of a refugee centre in Manchester during and after the 1999 Kosovan conflict. It recalls how and why a comfortable suburban church community became deeply involved in the shattered lives of the Kosovan Albanian families who had experienced ethnic cleansing and deals honestly with the issues raised around interfaith dialogue and cross-cultural care. It is a personal account of the author's own journey from his involvement with the victims of atrocity and his hope for a future beyond suffering.
