About Campbell Purton

Campbell Purton is Senior Lecturer in the Centre for Counselling Studies at the University of East Anglia, where he is the director of the MA/Postgraduate Diploma course in Focusing and Experiential Psychotherapy. He also contributes to the work of the UEA Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling. He is the author of Person-Centred Counselling: The Focusing-Oriented Approach, and the editor (with Judy Moore) of Counselling and Spirituality: Experiential and Theoretical Perspectives.Campbell works as a counsellor at the University of East Anglia Counselling Service, and in private practice. He completed his Ph.D. in philosophy and has taught philosophy at universities in Canada and the UK, as well as many adult education classes in philosophy and counselling. His main interests are in the philosophical background of counselling, the philosophical and therapeutic ideas of Eugene Gendlin, and the relationship between therapy and spiritual practices.
