A package containing an illustrated book on how kaleidoscopes work, with projects and activities; and the components to build your own kaleidoscope. The illustrated book introduces the basic workings of light reflection, refraction and diffraction; colour blending and bouncing; and point, line and plane symmetry. It also covers the history of kaleidoscopes including stereoscopes and philosophical toys. The kit compes complete with a set of custom components, including three plastic safety mirrors, tube and turning end, a plastic eye-piece and tube cover, coloured gels and a starter set of plastic beads, gems, chips and other objects to put on view.
