Gossip Girl Summary

Gossip Girl: Bk. 2: You Know You Love Me by Cecily Von Ziegesar

'Welcome to New York City's Upper East Side, where my friends and I all live in huge, fabulous apartments and go to exclusive private schools. We aren't always the nicest people in the world, but we make up for it in looks and taste.' The Gossip Girl series is the ultimate in glamour and cool. Set in New York's glamorous Upper East Side, the narrative follows the thrills and spills of its richest and most beautiful teenage residents (with Jimmy Choo shoes and shopping at Barneys mixed in along the way). In this second novel, they are interviewing for college (Ivy League only, naturally).

Gossip Girl Reviews

'At the lighter end of the scale, those of you who've been waiting for a new BFF to fill the gaping OC/Dawson's/90210 hole in your lives could do far worse than sign up for an upper east side preppy education in Gossip Girl (March, ITV2). Based on Cecily von Ziegesar's string of novels. It's Cruel Intentions with a noughties Abercrombie sheen - and as it's adapted by Josh Schwartz (the Seth Cohenalike behind The OC), you'd be right to expect a string of zippy one-liners, powerhouse teen bitchiness and a general fascination with the lives of the urban rich' Guardian

About Cecily Von Ziegesar

Cecily von Zeigesar herself attended one of the smart private schools in Manhattan, New York, and many of the tales told in Gossip Girl ring with great authenticity as a result.
