Summary
When the bush-vark sets out into the forest for the first time, he is unaware of the dangers that lie all around him and he narrowly misses some extraordinary situations. This story won the Premier Award for Art College Students in the Macmillan Prize competition, 1987 and the "Mother Goose Award".
