This work outlines the principles of palliative care for practising health professionals of different disciplines, designed to introduce a basic range of skills for use in both the community and hospital setting. It is a practically-based volume that covers cancer, as well as non-malignant disorders, with specific chapters on AIDS and motor neurone disease. It explores the practical, clinical and physiological aspects of caring for the terminally ill patient.
