This course is for post-16 students who are preparing for A level, AS level or Revised Higher examinations. The materials have also been specifically written to help students to make an effective transition from GCSE or Standard Grade to an higher level of German language work. Brennpunkt has been developed with the demands of the changing curriculum and the need of a new post-16 clientele in mind. The students' book provides: an introduction to students outlining the aims and objectives of the course; 15 chapters, each devoted to a broad theme and subdivided into several interrelated topics; regular grammatik pages with practice exercises, both in the students' book and the copymasters; a kommunikation feature in every chapter to equip students with communication strategies and encourage fluency; two extended reading sections linked to the units of the course, including poetry, cartoons and extracts from literary texts; a glossary of the key instructions used throughout the students' book; and a comprehensive grammar reference section, including verb tables.
