About Dave Lory

Dave Lory has worked in entertainment for over 35 years. Starting as a drummer and tour-manager, he rose to becoming a respected artist manager, record executive, and event producer working in rock, country and rap. Apart from Jeff Buckley, Lory helped guide the careers of the Allman Brothers, Courtney Love, and Duncan Sheik. As an executive at Mercury and Artemis Records he worked with Bon Jovi, KISS, Shania Twain, Def Jam, and Warren Zevon. His event productions include the New Music Seminar and the Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards. He was a founding member of the Music Managers Forum and has lectured in music business at William Patterson University and New York University.

Jim Irvin, born and raised in west London, began his career in music as singer in UK indie band Furniture throughout the 1980s. In 1990, he switched to music journalism and became the founding features editor ofMOJOmagazine in 1994, where he first met, reviewed, and wrote about Jeff Buckley. He wrote acclaimed pieces on Radiohead, Talk Talk, and Sandy Denny, editedThe MOJOCollection, a compendium of classic albums, and commissionedMOJOs own book imprint. Although he continues to contribute to various publications, Jim returned to full-time songwriting in 2001 and has collaborated with artists including Lana Del Rey, Lissie, David Guetta, Gavin DeGraw, Anne-Marie, and Nothing But Thieves.
