This textbook is aimed specifically at the Diploma in Child Health and eqivalent examiantions in community/ambulatory paediatrics. Its new features reflect changes in DCH/DCCH exams and emphasis on problems such as AIDS, physical and sexual abuse and neglect. There are new chapters on caring for children in general practice, child health care in the community, accidents, prevention of illness and care of the normal child and ethical dilemmas in paediatric care. Following a study of all aspects of child health, the book concludes with a fresh set of multiple choice questions for student self-assessment in preparation of the exam. All the chapters have been revised and updated and the chapters on epidemiology, child abuse, blood and endocrine and metabolic disease have new authors. The editors are both DCH examiners.
