About David Russell

Dr Dave Russell studied History at the University of York before teaching in secondary schools in Bradford and Leeds. He has taught in the Department of Historical and Critical Studies at the University of Central Lancashire since 1985 and is the author of numerous articles and essays on the history of music and sport. He is currently Reader in the History of Popular Culture, and Head of the Institute of Football Studies, a joint venture between the University of Central Lancashire and the Football Museum, Deepdale, Preston.
