Cheshire and Burn's Modern Law of Real Property Summary

Cheshire and Burn's Modern Law of Real Property by E.H. Burn

The seventeenth edition of this classic work on land law has been substantially re-ordered and revised to ensure that it presents the modern law of real property - the land law of the twenty-first century - whilst setting the modern law in the context of its historical foundations. Since the publication of the last edition in 2000, there have been major developments in this area of the law. The Land Registration Act 2002 and the Land Registration Rules 2003 are fully incorporated into the text, together with other legislative changes, such as the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002, the Housing Act 2004 and the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, and the numerous proposals of the Law Commission for reform. Developments in the case law are also fully discussed.
