About Elizabeth Murphy

Elizabeth Murphy was born in Liverpool and has lived in Merseyside all her life. When she was twelve, her father gave her a sixpenny book from a second-hand bookstall, Liverpool Table Talk One Hundred Years Ago, which led to her lifelong interest in Liverpool's history. Throughout her girlhood, she says, there was an endless serial story unfolding in her mind with a constantly changing cast of characters, but it was only in the 1970s that she started to commit the stories to paper.
