About Ernest Garcia

Ernest Garcia was born in Gibraltar, where the conspicuous migrations of storks and raptors sparked of an enduring interest in birds. This led to doctoral studies at the Edward Grey Institute, Oxford, into interspecific territoriality between blackcaps and garden warblers. He settled in Britain in 1983 and is Chairman of the Surrey Bird Club and Surrey representative of the British Trust for Ornithology.
