Blackfoot Physics: A Journey into the Native American Universe by F. David Peat
In the 1980s, theoretical physicist David Peat went to a Blackfoot Sun Dance ceremony in Alberta, Canada, and was entranced by the native world view which he began to explore in greater depth. This book is the account of his discoveries. In a synthesis of anthropology, history, metaphysics, cosmology and quantum theory, the author compares the medicines, the myths, the languages, indeed the entire perceptions of reality of the two peoples, Western and indigenous. He goes on to show the amazing resemblance between indigenous teachings and some of the insights which are emerging from modern science, a congruence which touches on the physical universe and man's understanding of it. David Peat is the author of Einstein's Moon: Bell's Theorem and The Curious Quest for Quantum Reality, Sychronicity: the Bridge between Matter and Mind, and Turbulent Mirror.
