Stirling: 40 Town and Country Walks by Fergal MacErlean
The third in our series of shorter "Town and Country Walks", this guidebook contains 40 easy routes in and around Stirling and Falkirk. After treading the historic streets of Stirling, Scotland's smallest city, this volume ventures out to the reservoirs, hills and moors that surround it, dropping in on Bridge of Allan, Dublane and Doune along the way.To the north and west, there are walks in the Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park, with Aberfoyle, Callander, Killin, Loch Katrine and Inversnaid all featured. To the south and east, the routes stretch along the Forth from Falkirk to Blackness and Bo'ness with forays from the hillfoot towns of Stirlingshire and Clackmannanshire into the Ochils on the north side of the Forth. Many of these circular routes are suitable for families and accessible by public transport.
