The Topsy-Turvies by Francesca Simon
The Topsy-Turvies sleep in the kitchen, get up at midnight and have breakfast in the bedroom. They wear their coats indoors and their pyjamas when they go out. They are most surprised when they visit Mrs Plum next door and find she doesn't, so they decide to make her house lovely for her by turning everything upside down - and when a burglar climbs through the window, they do their best to make him feel at home.
First published in 1995, this story is as witty and original as one would expect from the author of Horrid Henry. It is now reissued with brand-new illustrations by Emily Bolam, whose bright and brilliant pictures of the Topsy-Turvies are as much fun as the text.
