About Frank A. Schmalleger

Dr. Frank Schmalleger is Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNCP). Schmalleger taught criminal justice courses and chaired the Department of Sociology, Social Work, and Criminal Justice for nearly 20 years while at UNCP. He is the author of more than a dozen textbooks in the justice field. Dr. Catherine Marcum is the assistant chair of the Department of Government and Justice Studies at Appalachian State University, as well as an associate professor of justice studies. She has over 50 peer-reviewed publications and multiple books in the field of correctional issues, cybercrime, sexual victimization, and juvenile offending and victimization.
