`One of the features that makes this an attractive book is the built-up displayed equations. They are presented more as they would be written on a marker board as opposed to being set in a single line. The tests are complemented by a set of thirty-nine tables of critical values.... It seems reasonable that every person who does statistical testing should have a copy of this reasonably priced book' - Journal of Quality Technology `Most users should find that this is a convenient reference book, covering most requirements. It includes a classification chart which will help in the location of appropriate tests and, most valuably, a collection of 39 statistical tables.... strongly recommended' - British Journal of Educational Psychology
`From my viewpoint the main strength of the book lies in its extensive indexing of the applications of various tests. There is a simple listing of test titles (giving nine applications of the t-test, for example). There is also a four-page listing of the objectives of each of the 100 tests, which can be browsed to locate relevant alternatives for your given statistical problem. One utterly invaluable table in the book gives a concise summary of common statistical problem types and a list of tests which may be appropriate. The problem types are classified by the number of samples... whether parametric or nonparametric tests are required, and the area of interest.... I cannot praise this book too highly - it is a godsend for practitioners who are competent statisticians but who need a sourcebook for precise details of all the various tests. Every OR department should have a copy!' - Journal of the Operational Research Society
`The clarity and ease of Kanji's approach keep the user from feeling beyond his/her limits.... Each test is presented in a succinct, one-page format.... A nice touch included for many tests is a discussion of the test's limitations and consequences of violating the assumptions.... Overall, this book is a good reference for a user with a knowledge of basic descriptive and inferential statistics and reasonable skills with arithmetic formulas and notation. This reference covers tests not commonly found in other sources' - Nursing Research
`The author is to be commended for compiling all the relevant statistical tests into one resourceful reference book' - Statistical Methods in Medical Research
`I urge Kanji and SAGE to publish quickly a Second Edition, one more carefully edited and one with the promised guide to further reading. As it is, 100 Statistical Tests is a mind expander that allows the creative evaluator to dream up ways in which to apply some esoteric techniques in the hope of understanding real world problems. We are all in debt to Professor Kanji for compiling this collection' - Evaluation Practice
