Beningfield's English Landscape by Gordon Beningfield
The Dorset heathlands with their Dartford warblers, smooth snakes and sand lizards, Sedgemoor and the South Downs, as well as the clear chalk streams of the home counties which are threatened with removal by being tapped at source to provide water for the towns. Like "Beningfield's Countryside", the book has a hundred or so pictures, mixing watercolours and pencil sketches, complemented by the artist's own text which communicate his great knowledge of the countryside and his enormous enthusiasm.
