Victoria and Andrew Pringle are now happily married and working hard to make a success of Langmune Farm but in 1939 war is declared casting a long shadow over the people and the peaceful glens. Libby shares her parents love of the land and Billy Lennox, the lairds illegitimate grandson, becomes a close friend when they cycle to school together.
