Hakan zo?lu is Professor of History and Director of Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Central Florida. He is the author of Kurdish Notables and the Ottoman State (SUNY Press, 2004) and From Caliphate to Secular State (ABC-Clio/Praeger Publishers, 2011), alongside 5 monographs published in several languages.
