Summary
The Bateman family are at odds and soon in crisis when Annabel Bateman is required to defend a man accused of incest. When Oliver Malet, a fellow barrister and her valued friend dies, she is left with no moral support. Annabel must face domestic and work crises alone, and nothing can be as before.
