East Kent Cycle Rides by Helen Thompson
From the flat open vistas of Romney Marsh to the steep sunken lanes of the North Downs East Kent offers cyclists a variety of terrain, and you're usually never far from a great pub. The rides in this guide take you through East Kent's sleepy backwaters avoiding major roads where at all possible. Most of the rides start at a railway station for ease of use for those who prefer to leave the car at home. The majority are circular tours and some incorporate sections of the national cycle route network. Designed for flexibility of use, many of the rides incorporate both shorter routes (core pedals) with suggestions for longer or more challenging runs (extended pedals) for the more energetic.
