About Ian Thompson

Ian Thompson is a collector of local legends and part-time historian. He has been coming to Whitby for longer than he can remember, returning to his mother's hometown year after year. He is the author of Dracula's Whitby and co-author if two other books about Whitby history and folklore. He has also co-written three other local history books about Lancashire. In addition to writing, Ian's hobbies include: infra-red photography, painting, and dressage. He is based in Southport.
